Privacy Policy — Striminator

Effective date: March 22, 2026
Last updated: March 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Striminator (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our Android application Striminator (com.striminator).

Important: This document is a practical template aligned with how the App is built. It is not legal advice. You should have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publishing, and adapt it to your legal entity, jurisdiction, and any changes to the App or third-party services.

1. Who we are

For questions about this policy or your data, contact us at the email above.

2. Summary

Striminator lets you capture video and audio from your device (camera, microphone, and optionally screen) and stream or record according to settings you choose.

3. Information the App processes on your device

3.1 Audio and video

When you use the App, it may process:

This content is used to:

We do not receive a copy of your stream on our servers as part of normal streaming. The App sends media to your chosen third-party services (streaming platforms, your own servers, etc.). Those services have their own privacy policies.

3.2 Data you enter in the App

Stored locally on your device (for example via Android DataStore / app storage), including:

Stream keys and URLs are sensitive. Anyone with access to your device or backups could potentially read them if not protected by your device security.

3.3 Device permissions

The App may request:

Permission / capability Purpose
Camera Capture video for preview and streaming
Record audio Capture microphone for streaming/recording
Internet Connect to your RTMP/RTMPS destinations and to our purchase verification endpoint
Foreground service (camera, microphone, media projection) Keep streaming stable while the App is in use
Wi‑Fi state (where used) Optional device-side behavior related to connectivity
Billing In-app purchases via Google Play

Screen capture uses the system Media Projection consent flow; the App does not bypass that prompt.

4. Information sent to us or our infrastructure

4.1 Premium / subscription verification

If you purchase Striminator Premium through Google Play, the App uses Google Play Billing.

To confirm entitlement, the App may send a Google Play purchase token and your app package name to our backend, for example:

We use this only to validate that the purchase is genuine and to enable Premium features. We do not use this to access your stream content.

Google’s handling of billing data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy and Play terms.

4.2 Google Play

When you install or update the App through Google Play, Google processes information according to Google’s policies. We do not control that processing.

5. Third-party services and libraries

The current App dependency set does not include embedded advertising or analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics) as of the version this policy was written for. If we add such services later, we will update this policy.

6. Data retention

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect data that we process (e.g. verification requests). Streaming security also depends on your choices (HTTPS/RTMPS where supported, strong stream keys, trusted platforms) and your network.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA, UK, California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Because most stream content and channel configuration stay on your device or go directly to platforms you choose, many requests may be fulfilled by using your device settings (clear data, uninstall) or contacting us for purchase-related data.

10. International transfers

If you are outside the country where our servers or processors are located, data may be transferred across borders. We will comply with applicable law when doing so.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated Effective date (and, where required, notify you in the App or via Play Store listing).
